fun little game, but too easy for me.. got over 3000 points first try, and dying after that took two whole minutes of just letting the game run on its own
Keep in mind that I literally stopped playing at level 40 and had to Literally pause the game and hit give up so It didn't last forever. They were moving so fast they were slamming into each other and merging. At level 60 I was actively trying to lose. It's good mindless fun, but there is no risk of losing. The water level was MEANT to rise up, but it moves too slowly and goes down way too much after each line.
creating lines is way harder once there are more colors on the screen, and the increased speed means there's now more time pressure on you to decide where to place the sploobs. admittedly im not the best at my own game, but i find it quite difficult!
Reminds be a little of John Nash's boardgame where players need to connect a line across a chasm; combined with a kind of block-tower builder game (but with irregular pieces).
If I could make a suggestion;
it seems that the endless wave of new cells adds a little monotony without any intentional pause between a 'set' of levels. if the conditions between each level set are different, then each level set can be 'replayed' with the novelty it provides. Perhaps playing to unlock an 'endless mode' for the challenge that set of levels?
Some thoughts:
Not just suspending the cells in water, but also perhaps suspending them in alcohol as well (which is less dense than water)...
..while having a greater variety of cells -- some of which only suspend in water, and some of which only suspend in alcohol? Then you can have a 2 tier system of flotation to simply an overly complex grid layout.
The only other cell shapes I could think of would be Semicircle, or Rhombus/Diamond. 5 shapes would have to be the maximum if you were to add complexity.
Player options might include being able to select the solution mix to add to the experiment, thereby intentionally choosing the probability of what kinds of cells will be dispensed for the next 20 or 50 turns?
Your game is really good already. Just offering suggestions if anything jumps out at you.
This was a really cool random find. I'm learning SDL3 and was wondering what games were using SDL, and this showed up lol. Had a fun 15 min with it, great game!
Fun proof of concept. Juicy graphics and squishy physics. The game does get to a point where after 2000+ the sploobs fall so fast you cant even get one halfway to the wall when holding down the keys. Could we increase the movespeed with the fall speed? The pacing is great, but it would be nice to decide where they land when the tank isn't too full
This was fun and I liked the physics, but the directions really confused me! "A few friends in the middle won't do" made me think I was only supposed to stack up on each wall (nothing in the middle), and I couldn't figure out how to get them to pop.
Great little project! All the squishy physics was incredibly satisfying. My only feedback was that I often found myself mistaking what's the next block coming as it'll already have left the queue. It would be nice if it stayed till the last second.

Had a mental breakdown while playing. good game.
idk how it happened but I think I just found a new species from these cells
This is kind of too easy until it becomes basically uncontrollable.
Jogo bem legal e viciante, fiquei uma hora inteira jogando ele

this is why there are multiple difficulty levels
This user is a bot
very nice!
great game !
Tried rotating the first few cells into place, then they squished and rolled away from my neat little stack. That's a fun twist on falling blocks.
Make this mobile
Come on, be nice lol. Say please
Add APKs so I can install the app
3446 first try
1529
Nice.
COOL
they look so yummy
I want to eat them
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!1!!!!11111111111
you’ll die
I love the way that they squish and plop~
pretty cool
this game sooo incredible. hehehe l lov the fact that at level 20 , l can do literally nothing and the game just plays bu it self
l only reached level 30 with that

there are multiple difficulty levels you can choose
That still doesn't change the fact that there should be a difficulty curve, not a difficulty cliff.
I didn't get there but I'm CERTAIN that once the sploobs move fast enough they can do the same thing in Hard.
It's a puzzle game mostly reliant on luck, at a certain point, skill doesn't matter.

Very Fun game, like the design.
A fun little puzzle game!
This reads like someone figured out softbody physics and decided to make an action puzzler. Absolute gem of a game.
Reminds me of sand tetris, but certainly a different take on it, since the objects change shape much less easily.
This give me vibe of modern gameboy or something like this.
Give link to download this
The art gives me the same vibe as the art in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
you know everyone has memorized the url at this point right?
I got you, didn't I >:)
you linked the url directly. we can see it
of course you can see the link, but you cant see what it leads to. and I dont actually belive that people memorized that link.
Back in my day there were no video previews. So you had to learn what dQw4 meant in a youtube link if you didn't want to waste bandwidth on that
Wow, you got me good!
I'd say the colours need to be a bit more pastel for that 80s aesthetic.
Holy shit this game has potential! the whole concept is very cool!
Peak
love the concept! pretty cool spin on the classic dropper kind of games!
1164 score. Fun!
After level 50 it stopped getting faster and it's no longer challenging. Pretty fun tho.
well, that's what harder difficulties are for! i should definitely adjust the difficulty curve though, thank you

that was something i was intending to do, but i never got around to making the change before the game jam deadline. i will add it as soon as i can!
should be fixed now!

yep, that one's on me, i could probably explain it a bit clearer. thank you for the feedback!

yeah, someone else suggested that too. definitely will be adjusted by the next update, thank you for the feedback!
update is out!
A little gameplay, a little critique ;)
Juiceeee
I love this game, it's so fun and at some point chaotic. Please continue making games
i will never stop!
I love it. Thanks!
