NOTE: It doesn't seem like saving progress works with the web version (thanks GameMaker), so I recommend you to download the Windows version instead!

Welcome to Cascadence!

Your goal is to arrange falling blocks into 2x2 squares and to clear them from the board. Either play solo and progress through 10 unique levels, or challenge a series of CPU opponents in fast-paced battles. Send static blocks to disrupt their board, but be ready to defend against their attacks too!

Can you cadence the cascade? What do you mean that doesn't make any sense? Ahh, screw it, I give up... NOTHING I DO IS GOOD FOR YOU!!!

I submitted score with blank name, and starting from 2nd one, name input starts at last letter instead of first

not a bug. you entered an empty username, so the game saved it. you can just back out with esc next time the game auto-enters it

i did not mean that is bug, but thanks for letting me know

Could you add fullscreen? Otherwise amazing game

there is fullscreen! it's in the settings, though you can also press alt+enter or f11 a few times

Any way to do it on mac?

The effects felt incredibly satisfying, and with the blocks and backgrounds changing each stage, it was so much fun!
It reminded me of the excitement I felt playing Lumines on PSP and Tetris Effect in VR.
The CPU battle was surprisingly tough even on Normal, but winning gave me such a huge sense of accomplishment!
It was a truly wonderful gameplay experience ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

:0 thank you so much!

If your keys arent working on browser, you can reload the webpage and that can fix the issue

Fix the Human vs Human mode in the browser version, please. None of the keys work in that mode.

oh that's a bit of an oversight on my part! that mode only works with controllers, i really wasn't able to add keyboard support for multiplayer. i really should've put some warnings at least

will remedy that, thank you!

Really good, a tetris like with a new mecanics : i liked it. The difficulty is well balanced and I love the VFX. Good job !

doesn't seem to work. says to press any key, and and i pressed every key and none worked.

are you on windows? using the browser version? or did you download it?

trying to play on chrome browser.

yeah the browser version is kind of messy... gamemaker's browser export is just not the greatest and there isn't a ton i can do about that. you should try out the downloadable version

i'd love too, but my laptop is kinda maxed out on storage atm...

Me and my brother got too good in the game! Fun 2+ hours :D

holy SHIT

Not as juicy as I expected. There is a lot of effects but I feel they don't go well together (water background, fire explosion, metal tiles, static tiles) nor they felt good, and the shaking effect that budge the blocks prevents me to see the board for a second :/

(+3)

well, i did not expect someone to say the game isn't juicy enough, but i guess the criticism is fair! i definitely went heavy on all the effects and i knew this would turn some people off. that's just what the game is i suppose

I have pressed every singl button on my key board and the game wont start

are you playing the browser or the downloadable version? the browser version is a bit jank so i recommend you to download the game instead

Nice game fun playing!

Damn good game!! I've never played Lumines, so I'm still figuring things out, but I'm having a blast regardless. I really appreciate how slow the blocks fall at first - gives me plenty of time to think things over without getting overwhelmed.

The aesthetics are amazing, too. The soundtrack slaps, the visuals are stylish, and all the clicky SFX make my brain happy.

It kinda reminds me of the small DSi-ware puzzle games I played as a kid (and then I found the LCD filter and the vibe was complete). It's perfect to play in bite-sized chunks, but it's got an atmosphere so thick you could play it for hours.

thank you! i was actually initially going for that more dsi/psp era feel, but since the jam theme was "analog memories" i thought a crt filter would be more fitting. still left the lcd filter in anyway tho, im glad it didnt go unappreciated lol

Waw ! Really dynamic gameplay, i love your style !

im really stupid and made a one letter typo LMAO
please download the game again, it should be fixed!

based game

based on what?

Lumines?

(+1)

you got me

If the das was 2-3 times faster this could be a really good game.

Fair point, I added it like 30 minutes from the deadline LOL so I pretty much had no time to tweak it. I was planning to update the game anyway, so I'll take a look, thank you!

lmao yeah it gets hectic, honestly checking this one out made me sad I didn’t know about this jam. Tetris Lumines with a jungle soundtrack is pretty much ticking all of my boxes.

i will be playing this game nonstop until lumines arise releases to satisfy my endless craving for games where you align 2x2 squares

thank you greatly for the craving satisfaction
